Lion Tamer

The lion tamer cracks his whip
And the lion’s mouth is shut
He’s tamed every beast that walks this earth
But he’s never tamed his tongue

 Lion tamer, lion tamer
Why do you say the things you say
The words you choose cause your tongue
To sting like the whip you crack
Your words hurt, they cut to the bone
You’ve chased everyone that loved you away

The lion tamer cracks his whip
And the lion’s mouth is shut
He’s tamed every beast that walks this earth
But he’s never tamed his tongue

 Lion tamer, lion tamer
Why do you say the things you say
You made Rosie the clown cry again
Everyone knows that clowns shouldn’t cry
She spit at you and said she’d never forgive you
The things you say make you a beast

The lion tamer cracks his whip
And the lion’s mouth is shut
He’s tamed every beast that walks this earth
But he’s never tamed his tongue
 Lion tamer, lion tamer
Why do you say the hurtful things you say
The beautiful freaks dance by the light of the moon
You sit alone in your little cage
Your only companions are your tongue and your whip
One for the lion and one for yourself

The lion tamer whispers a word
And the lion’s mouth is shut
His tongue has caused so much pain
So with his whip he hangs
