Let’s take all of the songs ever written and organize them into categories. Love songs would be the overwhelming winner. If you lumped all religious songs together, they might surpass love songs but that feels too diverse to be a single topic. There have been so many love songs written. Everybody has a favorite. Love songs are very hard to write. As I’ve gotten older, it’s even harder. It feels like everything has already been said and it’s such a personal topic. I don’t know where to begin when writing a love song. I can write songs about chickens or coffee all day long. Maybe I need to try a love song about chickens.
